Dean Meier

SAMSUNGDean was born on September 27,1971.  In his early years his mother described him as a wonderful child;   ” It’s just those teen years where he got in to trouble” she can often be heard saying.

Around the age of 8 Dean found a love of fishing when he and his father would go on weekend outings.  They would sleep in a mini van and eat cold hot dogs with ketchup –  ” Those were some of the most fun times I’ve had fishing.  We didn’t catch a whole lot but I was lucky to have a dad that wanted to spend time with me.  He showed me how to tie knots, be patient, and enjoy being on the water”.  When Dean was 17 he entered his first bass fishing tournament. For the next 10 years he worked at building a career as a professional bass fisherman. He laments,  ” Fishing for a living is a hard life and a hand full of people can truly make a living doing it.  Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I just wasn’t one of those guys.  There comes a time in every man’s life where he has to take a look at his direction and adjust.  I had other opportunities in the business world and I took them.  Leaving fishing was really hard”.

In 2009 Dean met Danielle Spak and little did he know, she would bring his love for fishing back, make it stronger, and more fun than ever – ” Early on in our relationship Dani talked me in to going to ” Tolivar” (the Spak family cabin).  It was the fourth of July and the whole family was there.  When I say the whole family I don’t mean mom and dad.  I’m talking cousins, Aunts, sister’s boyfriend (and his kids) there were people everywhere.  I was assigned a sleeping area on the floor of the porch where Big Mike (Dani’s Dad) could watch over me while having his morning coffee.  The fishing that weekend was amazing.  Dani got to fish for bass in the lily pads with topwater frogs for the first time and her excitement was over the top.  She loves catching fish and I love watching her catch them.  I’m so lucky to have a partner like her”.

Dean spends much of his time finding investments that center around real estate.  He forms partnerships with people who are interested in creating income from real estate but don’t want to deal with the business. Go here if you’re curious. He also spends a lot of time looking for more opportunities to fish in any way he can.  ” I recently discovered salt water fishing.  I can’t wait to drag a squid around the ocean off the back our our sail boat”.  He also enjoys gardening – ” I love when land produces.  It’s the neatest thing to see something of value come from the ground.  I would love to be a part of a real silver mine”.

Dean’s goals: ” spend as much time as I can seeing the world.  Find a tropical place I can call home and catch fish until I can’t move my arms, make Danielle proud of me and make a great life for us”.
